Greater Beloit Chamber of Commerce

Position: Director of Events and Marketing
Location: GBCC office (IronTek) with time at events and member locations, Beloit,WI
Status: Exempt – Full Time
Reports to: Executive Director

Position Requirements and Qualifications:
Experience in special events and/or marketing required.
Chamber of Commerce or association experience preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills, computer skills, organizational skills, ability to manage time and volunteers, ability to work with members, committees, and staff. Valid driver’s license required.

Primary Responsibilities:
The Director of Events and Marketing will plan and implement all GBCC
special events and programming. The Director of Events and Marketing will run all communication and
marketing strategies of the GBCC.

Specific Duties:

  • Implementation of all GBCC special events including but not limited to Annual Dinner, Golf Classic, Influential Women in Business Luncheon, Business Education Summit, and Taste of the Chamber.
  • Development and implementation of various networking and professional development programs delivered to chamber members.
  • Coordinate ribbon cutting events for chamber members and work with the GBCC Investor Relations Manager to implement.
  • Management of various communications strategies and projects including but not limited to the weekly electronic newsletter, social media (including but not limited to Facebook, LinkedIn, You Tube) and creation of marketing pieces.
  • Management of the Chamber’s website.
  • Create content and work with vendors/partners for the GBCC annual report and the annual membership guide.
  • Lead the GBCC Special Events Committee and Marketing Committee.
  • Attend all GBCC board meetings and other committee meetings as needed by the Executive Director.
  • Cultivate and maintain an extensive knowledge of all Chamber programs, services, initiatives and activities.
  • Support GBCC membership retention and recruitment. Create marketing strategies to support this effort.
  • Provide support for the Executive Director and Investor Relations Manager as needed.

Additional skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Mailchimp or Constant Contact.
  • Experience with Canva preferred.
  • Familiarity with all forms of social media preferred.
  • Able to succeed in a highly collaborative, team-based environment.
  • Have excellent organizational and time management skills yet remain flexible and adaptable to changing priorities. This person should be a self-starter with effective follow-through skills.
