Bessie's Dinner

The atmosphere isn’t the only thing that screams “diner,” the food is also reminiscent of the ‘50s, but with modern attributes, like the deep-fried Monte Cristo sandwich served with raspberry jam.

Children and adults alike will want to feast on the homemade apple doughnuts while watching the airplanes through vast floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the runway.

The menu and the restaurant itself make Bessie’s Diner the perfect spot for families.

“The location, the atmosphere and the food offerings is unlike anything else in the market,” says Jeff Whiteman, chief operating officer of Geronimo Hospitality Group. “Being able to share the story of a relatively unknown, groundbreaking American is also really exciting. We are thrilled to get Bessie’s up and running and to provide the state line area a new breakfast & lunch option.”

Bessie’s Diner is named after Beloit native Bessie Raiche, the first American woman to fly solo in an airplane
